Ayurveda : The overview
Ayurveda is indian anicent medicine science.Ayurveda is practice by many anicent doctors. Ayurveda is combination of two words. Ayur and veda. Ayur means life. And veda means knowledge. Ayurveda is subveda of athravaveda.
आयु: कामय मानेन धर्म अर्थ सुखं साधनम् |
आयुर्वेद उपदेषेशु विधेय परम आदर: ||
The meaning of shloka is:
The person who will to have well being of happines, wealth, health and mental satisfaction, the person must follows rules of ayurveda.Ayurveda apperance:
According to anicent granthas, ayurveda is orignally hear bramha in form of sound waves. Bramha collect these form of knowledge. Bramha give the knowledge of ayurveda to daksha prajapati. Daksha prajapati gives knowledge to ashwinikumar. Ashwinikumar give knowlwdge to indra. Indra gives knowledge to rushi aatreya and atreya give knowledge to its students.
Ayurveda discipline :Ashtang ayurveda
Ayurveda have eight main discipline :
1.kaychikista(internal medicine)
2.baal chikista(pedatrics)
3.graha chikista
4.urdhawanga chikista (ENT)
5.shalyachikista(surjery)
6.danstrachikista(Toxicology)
7.jarachikista(cosomatology)
8.vajikaran chikista (sexual rejuvination)
Ayurveda grantha:
Ayurveda has two many samhitas and tikas on that sanhita's. Ayurveda comprises of 3 treatises covering Ayurvedic Basics and description of diseases, formulations and treatments in a simplified way.
They are basically from the ancient treatises especially the greter trayies and bruhtri namely Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita and Vagbhata Samhita ( Sangraha / Ashtanga Hridaya).Material related to ayurveda simplified and presnted in different way as laghu triayies or bruhtri namely madhav nidan, sharangdhar samhita, bhav prakash.

1.charak samhita: charak samhita is mainly based on medicine. For all knowledge of medicine has been include in charak samhita. Charak samhita has six section, in each section have many chapters.

5.kalpa sthan
6.uttar sthan
7.chiksta sthan

2.shushrut samhita : shushrut samhita is mainly based on surjury. It has descriotion of all type of surjery that we are doing today. Shushrut samhita have six sections , in each seaction have many chapters.

Balancing principle of body:
According to ayurveda there are three type of balancing principle of ayurveda. They are vata, pitta, and kapha. ayurveda defines that this balancing principle are present in everyperson. To live a healthy life we needs to balance this principle of body.
In ayurveda basic principle, mind and consciousness work together in maintaning balance.
